Look Up! Understanding our identity beyond sexual orientation

Welcome!

The third Navigate By Faith Christadelphian Youth Summit will be held on March 28th September 12th, 2020 sometime after the danger due to COVID-19 is passed at the Verdugo Hills Ecclesial Hall.  This year’s summit is called “Look up!  Understanding our identity beyond sexual orientation”.

The world around us today tries to define us by our sexuality. But our Father, who knows us more deeply than we even know ourselves, created us as His children and desires us to be followers of Jesus. His plan for us goes so far beyond who we are sexually attracted to!

We have planned a day of digging into God’s word together, understanding the truth about what the Bible says about homosexuality, discovering what our true identity can be, and learning to love compassionately like Jesus did to all He came to save.

We hope you can join us on Saturday, March 28 September 12th, 2020 on a date yet to be determined beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Verdugo Hills Hall. The day will include one lecture style class, 2 class topic introductions, discussion groups, practical application suggestions, testimonies, prayer and of course good food!

Much thought, prayer and effort has been put into this Youth Summit. We would love to see you there! Also, we would ask that you pray for God’s blessing on our effort and this day! Our prayer is that it truly expresses his purpose, would be a help to all who attend and bring glory and honor to our Father and our Lord Jesus.

Summit Information

Designed for Young People

This summit is designed especially for young people aged 13-30, baptized and not, who are interested in trying to follow God’s guidance in their life.

Bible-based

We think that the best person to go to for information is the one who created us and knows us better than we know ourselves: God himself. As a result, we're going to be digging deep into God's word to find out what he has to say about sexual orientation, identity, and what gives true fulfillment in this life.

Practical

"How should I approach/treat an openly gay person?" "How should I respond to an invitation to a same-sex wedding?" "What if I feel attracted to the same-sex?" This summit will address hard real-life questions about how to live in today's world.

Workshops

This year's summit will feature workshops where participants will be broken into groups to answer questions from the Bible, and then everyone will reconvene to share their answers and ideas.

Food

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided, and free coffee and snacks will be available between sessions.

Need more information?  Check out the schedule for the day.

About Us

Navigate by Faith is a group of disciples seeking to honor the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ by loving young people in a manner that fosters deeper relationships by being real and honest, offering practical application advice and finding comfort while facing what is uncomfortable.

We strive to build trust, demonstrate empathy and compassion, and offer support and resources in order to encourage others as they take up their cross and Navigate their lives by Faith.

The road to developing a Godly character is not meant to be traveled alone. We do all this in the spirit of Galatians 6:2, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
